Our Company

The history of SINTRA, constituted in 1995, cannot be separated from the history of MIX-IND® technology, and the history of his inventor and chairman, Marco Zambolin.

1981 – The first patent

After several designing and installation experiences of technologic and heat recovery plants in the industrial field, Marco Zambolin registers the first patent of what will then become the MIX-IND® technology. The idea is born by analyzing the energy issues of a great volume building, at the PIRELLI establishment in Milano Bicocca.

1982/1983 – Two years of testing with CNR – ENEA

During these two years, with the contribution of CNR-ENEA, SINTRA studies, develops and verifies the base principles of this technology, with particular attention to the issues concerning great volume buildings.

1984/1994 – Ten years of designing and applying the MIX-IND®

technology

In the next ten years, SINTRA delves into the applications of this technology, even the extreme ones, through direct experiences of the realization of important industrial turnkey plants, in the European field.

The MIX-IND® technology is born mainly to resolve the complex environmental issues of the great volume industrial buildings, particularly the ones with specific pollution. The technology develops itself initially in the automobile industry both in Italy and in France (FIAT, PSA, CITROEN, etc.). The MIX-IND® technology consolidates itself by facing and solving the most different and complex issues of extreme homogeneity of the temperatures, through a specific designing and a perfect control of the air drafts, in buildings with widely different environmental needs, such as:
  • ultra clean environments: laboratories, clean rooms, metrologies, painting booths, etc,
  • specific pollution environments: oily fogs, fine particles, welding fumes, explosive gases, aggressive agents, etc.
  • environments with a high endogenous heat such as ovens, drying rooms, presses, foundries, etc.
  • environments with specific issues such as loading and unloading areas, engine test halls, multifunctional halls, efficiency recovery for obsolete plants, etc.
  • process applications, such as ovens, drying rooms, supersaturated air plants, extreme winter free-cooling, etc.
  • environments with more traditional comfort issues: manufacturing or assemblying workshops, exhibition and retail shows, multipurpose halls, etc.
  • small environments : such as offices, dining halls, receptions, meeting rooms, etc.
  • great height environments:warehouses, storage, etc.

For this kind of plants we use micro-perforated ducts, which will then be referred as : PULSERS ® or more precisely Linear Pulsion Dispositives (DLP®).

1995 – Consitution of SINTRA

SINTRA is constituted for the production and commercialization of the DLP®, finalized to the divulgation of the MIX-IND ®technology. The designing experiences reached by Mr. Zambolin are extended to almost all of the civil, tertiary, industrial and technologic process fields, both for what concerns the more traditional applications and for the more extreme ones. The applications with metallic DLP® begin to multiply, since they are destined mainly to low and medium height buildings, setting aside the applications with textile DLP® for great height buildings The applications quickly develop also in the tertiary field environments, which have less complicated aeraulic issues, but are a lot more demanding in terms of comfort and energy consumption: cinemas, theaters, schools, restaurants, offices, museums, shops, supermarkets, shopping malls, gyms, swimming pools, sports centers, etc.

2009 – 2012 The new worskhop-laboratory with the demonstrative industrial plants

SINTRA creates the new SPIROPACK™ technology for the fabrication of the open metallic DLP® , with programmed warpage of the diameter , and there is the inauguration of the new workshop-laboratory with the new SPIROPACK™ production line, which revolutionizes the world of metallic circular ducts by producing them opened, with a programmed warpage of the diameter (here after described).
Considering the great importance that SINTRA wants to give to research and experimentation, the establishment is consequently conceived to be also a demonstrative laboratory. This allows to test, simulate, monitor and present many of the applicative MIX-IND®  technologies for industrial and tertiary applications in great volume buildings. The aim of the workshop-establishment is to promote the awareness of the good functioning of the MIX-IND® technologies, by monitoring the plant’s functioning, and to be able to observe in real time any possible extreme functioning conditions. SINTRA organizes a TECHNICAL ORIENTATION and ASSISTED DESIGN service, which supports the Customer in the specific designing of a PULSION plant. SINTRA registers further patent requests for the QPE technologies (Quality, Performances, efficiency), better described here after, which further improve the comfort and energy efficiency characteristics of the plants.
